England, Scotland and Wales Overview

Changing of the Guard at the Tower of London

In late September 2019 we embarked on a Grand Circle bus tour of England, Wales and Scotland. In England the tour included London, Oxford, Bath, Stonehenge, Chester, York, Whitby, and the Lake District. Wales and Scotland stops included Llangollen, Snowdonia, and Caernarfon in Wales; and Edinburgh, Scotland. In addition to the 14 days of the guided tour we spent another three days on our own touring the Scottish Highlands.

We thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the tour. Our tour director Louise was outstanding, with a deep knowledge of the history, politics and landmarks; a passion for sharing British culture, foods and snacks; and a penchant for going above and beyond the call of duty to make our trip enjoyable and memorable. Even the famous daily British rain didn’t interfere with our sightseeing most days. On all but two days of the trip we had intermittent sunshine and overcast but dry skies while walking around.

All in all it was a wonderful vacation.
