Amsterdam Stopover

Zaanse Schans windmills

We arranged our own four-day stopover in Amsterdam to break up the long flight to Tanzania, staying in an AirBnB on the Amstel River near the Opera House. We did a lot of walking, took guided bus and canal boat tours, spent half a day at the Van Gogh Museum, and visited the picturesque Zaanse Schans village nearby for working windmills, a clog museum, cheese-making, Dutch culture and history.
